April is National Poetry Month and to celebrate, Matheson Memorial Library is holding a haiku contest for adult patrons! Haiku is a short form of poetry that originated in Japan and is formatted as three separate, unrhymed lines with the first and third lines having five syllables and the second line having seven syllables.
Drop off your original haiku to enter the contest! To enter, you can use this digital form https://bit.ly/haikucontest2025 or the printed form found at the information desk. Submissions will be accepted beginning at 9:00am on April 1, 2025 and ending at 8:00pm on April 30, 2025 and must follow these guidelines:
