Honey Harvest

In 2011, Lutherdale placed honey bee hives around camp, and since then they have been very busy helping the trees, flowers, and plants in our garden grow. The summer campers enjoy visiting the bees and learning more about them and how they make honey. Each September, we harvest the honey to use in our kitchen and sell it to guests. We are inviting you out to learn about the honey-making process from our expert beekeeper, Jeff Bluhm. Help spin the honey out of the frames and bottle it. Enjoy lunch and take home a jar of fresh honey. Additional jars will be available for sale.
