Cookie Baking with the Sons of Norway

Come taste and learn about traditional Scandinavian sweet treats with the Sons of Norway! Get some new recipes and tips for baking traditional Norwegian treats. The Scandinavians have long held the title of being the world’s greatest coffee drinkers, so traditional egg coffee will be served as well!

This program is a collaboration between Matheson Memorial Library and the Sons of Norway. The Sons of Norway was organized as a fraternal benefit society by 18 Norwegian immigrants in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on January 16th, 1895. The purpose of the Sons of Norway was to protect members of Sons of Norway and their families from the financial hardships experienced during times of sickness or death in the family. Over time, the mission of Sons of Norway has expanded to include the preservation of Norwegian heritage and culture. They are now the largest Norwegian organization outside Norway.
