SUMMARY:Discover the Power of Geology
DESCRIPTION:A temporary traveling display of minerals and fossils from around the world\, from the common to rather rare\, will be exhibited at the Matheson Memorial Library during the month of September. The display is courtesy of Jason Rehorst\, a Wisconsin geologist who has curated several such exhibits throughout Wisconsin and Illinois after his long-time employment at a large museum of natural history. He shares his love of the geological sciences by making portions of his large personal collection available for public viewing through educational traveling displays.\n\nAreas covered include an intro to geology and paleontology\, how to build and maintain a rock collection\, fakes and laboratory-grown specimens\, and the geological history of the upper Midwest and what can be found here. Talk is geared towards teens to adults. Additional geological specimens will be on display at the talk.
